About JRSA

The Justice Research and Statistics Association is a national nonprofit organization of state Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) directors, researchers, and practitioners throughout government, academia, and criminal justice organizations. • training in the latest computer technologies for records management, data analysis, Internet, forecasting, and other cutting-edge topics
  • reports on the latest research being conducted by Federal and State agencies, including the SAC Publication Digest and The JRSA Forum newsletter

JRSA conducts multistate research on statewide and system-wide problems such as domestic violence data collection and convenience store crime, and practices such as community policing. JRSA's Code of Ethics is intended as a guide to its membership and others in the justice research community for the proper conduct of research and analysis.

JRSA convenes conferences and seminars so criminal justice professionals can share information and hear about new research, programs, and technologies. JRSA's Training and Technical Assistance Center provides training and technical assistance on a wide range of topics including automated systems planning and management, crime analysis, evaluation and research methods, crime and prison population forecasting, and improving presentations through computer graphics.

The JRSA Executive Committee (Board of Directors). JRSA is governed by it's bylaws and a seven-member Executive Committee, including five elected officials (a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, and two delegates), one appointed (non-voting) delegate, and the Past President. For more information, see Executive Committee duties. All Executive Committee members, except for the appointed delegate and immediate past President, must be state or territorial Statistical Analysis Center Directors. The Strategic Plan guides the work of the organization and the Executive Committee.

The JRSA Staff. JRSA maintains an office in Washington, DC to carry out the activities of the association. The JRSA Executive Director, who serves at the pleasure of the Executive Committee, oversees the performance of all staff members.
